Using Backlinks To Gain Ranking For Targeted Keywords

To rank for specific keywords, the keyword can be used as the anchor text for the link. Anchor text is the link text that visitors click. For example in marketing resources the anchor text is „marketing resources‟. The more frequently a keyword is used in anchor text the higher a site will rank for that keyword (as long as the keyword matches site content in at least a general way). When using this technique it is preferable that the keyword used be targeted at the destination URL. But that isn‟t entirely necessary as long as the niche is appropriate.
